    Which Kibler Kit?

    This is getting entertaining!

    Which Kibler Kit?

From handling them, it seems to me that all of the Kibler kits handle a little better in the largest caliber available in that particular style. But the best handling one for me is the Woodsrunner in .54. It handles beautifully, is very accurate and although it is relatively light for caliber...

Building a Gun for the Wife

I have thought that a Kibler SMR with the barrel cut off to about 38" would be an excellent woman's or small mans rifle. I'm going to be working on converting a .45 SMR to percussion once I get some other projects out of the way. That might be a good option for your wife, unless you want to do a...

    Why Kibler

I've assembled (NOTE: not built), and shot an SMR, a Woodsrunner and have several other of all three models started. In my opinion there, is no way you can achieve a greater quality to cost value in a flintlock rifle than to buy a Kibler. You would have to have no mechanical ability at all to...

Kibler's Longrifles new product announcement tomorrow

I'm sure Jim knows what his products are worth. He and Kathrine have the sales/price point balance dialed in. Look how much the business has grown in just a couple years. I forget where I heard it but they're shipping between 50 to 70 kits a week. More power to them!

Kibler's Longrifles new product announcement tomorrow

I agree with both points of view. There is something amazing and valuable in human handwork that can't be duplicated by machines. At the same time I marvel at, and enjoy Jim's creative use of technology which is a form of art in itself. Really, I think this opens up new doors for some of us to...

    Kibler Extra Fancy Stock Finish

I’ve heard of oak being fumed with ammonia vapors to darken it. Don’t know if it would work with maple. If you want a maple sample to experiment with, the block at the butt end of the stock an breach end of the barrel in the shipping crate is maple. Least it was with my kits.

Would like to see some .45 woodsrunners

My Woodsrunner is a .54. Excellent balance, very accurate and not too light as recoil is quite manageable. Once I got it sighted in I put two consecutive shots just touching at 50 yds. It likes a .535 ball, a .010 patch and 75 gr. Charge of fff Schutzen. I don’t have a chronograph yet, but I...

    .54 charge workup

Round balls are very poor shapes ballistically. If you hunt at or around sea level you would be below 1300 fps by 50 yds even with a 1600 to 1700 fps muzzle velocity. Once you drop below the speed of sound( 1100 to 1150 fps depending on temperature) the velocity falls off much slower. 1300 fps...

Would like to see some .45 woodsrunners

I have a Woodsrunner in .54, an SMR in .45 and a Colonial in .58. The SMR is finished, The Woodsrunner was assembled and disassembled for finishing and the Colonial is mostly still in the box. To me the Woodsrunner has incredibly good balance for me and actually feels a bit lighter than the SMR...

    Front stuffer convert

Just got into muzzleloading this year. I've been a shooting, firearms, hunting enthusiast for 60 years. I have taken a fancy to colonial and early 18th century flintlocks and am assembling a couple from kits. I live in Northeast Nevada surrounded by desert, mountains and lots of game.
