    Ordered a Kibler Fowler

I should have this completed in time for a day or two afield after quail. Right now I am learning that I know nothing about files and chisels. I know wrenches and multi-meters, as I've spent my life in the maintenance of vehicles and avionics on aircraft. Now I am learning about single cut...

    The Other Stuff

I've seen folks use a wide variety of items as wadding, even green tree leaves. While I may explore the historic accuracy side, I am mostly interested in a combination that will give me hunting accuracy. I will be trying tow, card wads, fiber wads, at this point not looking at the introduction...

    The Other Stuff

I've been having good luck with a .495 ball and a .020 patch in my Green Mountain TC Hawken, so hopefully the same patch works with the fowler. Currently have 1.5 Swiss, FFg Old Eynsford, FFg Swiss, and some FFFg Goex.

    The Other Stuff

So my Kibler fowler kit is on order, it is a 20ga, so now I need to start gathering in the supplies I will need to shoot it. I have been using square patches in my percusion Hawken, will I need round patches for the fowler? I have several yards of pocket drill cloth, and if I need round...

    Unsuccessful yet happy

Traditional bows were always my choice! I'm stoked about the fowler, and I look forward to hours afield with it! Thank you for the words of encouragement!

    Unsuccessful yet happy

Over the years, my passion for hunting has mostly been for small game, upland game, and waterfowl. I ordered a Kibler Fowler Kit in hopes of taking my muzzleloading experience to the smaller game, where I have much more time to be afield. A 5 day hunt is wonderful, but 3 months is fantastic.

    Unsuccessful yet happy

Cruddy picture I got with my phone, I spooked him on this particular evening, but he didn't make haste, just meandered off the rim.

    Unsuccessful yet happy

Was blessed to have the opportunity to take the TC Hawken afield after mule deer this fall. Season is 5 days, I got to hunt 4, and they were all good days afield seeing deer. Last 3 days have been spent chasing a nice 3x3 at much lower elevation, 2 days running I was able to put a stalk on...

    Almost ready for November

Well life sure has a way of waylaying the best laid plans of mice and men. Missed yesterday, opening day as I had to take my best friend to the Cancer Center in Albuquerque Friday, and got back to my grandson's 6th Birthday Party, wouldn't have missed that for the world. Went out this morning...

    Another Shoot In The Books

Local club had their monthly shoot today. Despite the weather being a mite wet, had a great time, and had very few misses, definitely getting better. Now I wish we had a location for a woods walk!
