    Kibler Fowler, Fusil conversion

Hi All, Been eying up the new kibler English Fowler. Been wondering how good a base it would serve to make an English officers fusil? Like cut the stock back and mount a bayonet. Add sling swivels. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info fellas. Yes my buddy is one of "those guys". But not being an expert myself I thought I would throw it out there before I invest. I feel a lot better about it now.

    Kibler Colonial Trigger Guard Wrong?

I am thinking of getting the Kibler Colonial Rifle Kit. My buddy who is “in the know” on colonial era rifles was telling me the trigger guard that comes with the kit is of a much later style. Like 1780s-90s. Is there any truth to this? If so can anyone recommend a replacement?

    Correcting breech spacing

Working on a project gun I didn’t build. Barrel looks like it wasn’t inlet correctly as there is a gap between the stock and breech (see below pic). What’s the best way to correct the problem?

    Brown Bess Hand Mortars

Did you guys have the guns fitted with a reinforcing ring on the barrel? All the originals I’ve seen pictures of have ring mounted on the barrel to support the discharger cup socket and prevent just such an incident.

    Custom steel ramrods

By period variety I mean a simple steel rammer with a flat head. Currently this gun has an acorn shaped rammer tip off possibly a P53 Enfield.

    Custom steel ramrods

It’s a Northwest Star British Officer’s fusil. They are out of business since 2016 so I think parts will be hard to come by. I bought one as a project and it looks someone replaced the rammer with one from an Enfield.

    Custom steel ramrods

    Rusted butt plate screw

I bought a basket case North Star British Officer’s Fusil that rotted in a guys garage as a project. The top screw on the butt plate is super rust and won’t turn even after WD40… any ideas?

    German Rifle Carbines

Just got De Witt Bailey’s book on British flintlock rifles for Xmas. I was intrigued by his section on the French and Indian war, particular 300 rifles procured by Colonel Provost for the Royal Americans. He supposes (logically) that these were purchased in Germany since there is no record of...

    Schreidt Rifle Wooden Trigger Guard

I have heard from a few different sources there is an early picture of the Schreidt Rifle with a stepped wrist and a wooden trigger guard. Anyone have a copy of this picture that's willing to share?
