    First Muzzleloading Deer!

Thank you! I've killed plenty of squirrel with my .45 cal Leman since reading your book as well! Muzzleloader Hunting is truly a special thing! I'm hooked for good!

    First Muzzleloading Deer!

Yeah, that's the unfortunate part about loving those rich things of history that have worked for generations. Others either believe it can't work because it's "outdated", or they just repeat what they've been told.

    First Muzzleloading Deer!

I used a .530 rb, .10 patch, with 80 grs of 3fg GOEX BP. She was about 15 yards out. I shot her while I was on the ground!

It is! My buddy and his family loved it. They were asking me all about flintlocks. I gave them a little class on them and how they worked. His daughters may get into them in the near future

    First Muzzleloading Deer!

Brought out my .54 cal Kibler Colonial for a hunt Monday. About halfway in to the day I saw her. First deer kill with a muzzleloader!

It is not! It was made in the '70s. It has a Bill Large barrel and a H.W. Robbins Lock. I actually bought it from Big Sky Rambler. I'll send pics tomorrow when I get a chance! It's 9 lbs.

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

First squirrel with a BP Rifle! I used .45 cal Leman with a .440 rb, .015 patch lubed with beeswax/coconut oil mixture. 20 grs of FF powder. I will say, it took a few hours before I even saw the squirrel or had a good shot on one. But, it was well worth the wait!

    Hawken Horse Music

I'm a HUGE fan of your music. I listen to it pretty much everyday haha. My wife was just thinking about your song Man of the Mountain Land this morning. She even enjoys it, which is a huge plus! Maybe means more rifles for me 🤣 Please keep it up! Backwoods

I've been seriously considering it! It would be really nice to be able to buy one already built though.

    CLOSED Kibler Colonial

Hi all! I'm looking to buy a Kibler Colonial. My preference is a .58 cal smooth; but, beggars can't be choosers! I've been seeing how reliable and beautiful these long guns are, and how every Kibler owner loves theirs, so... I want one now! Haha. My price range is around $1400. Please feel free...

    Only one gun allowed!

I agree! Plus, you can’t just shoot whatever you want with a rifle like you used to be able to during those periods. At least, not here in Ohio. Unless you want a friendly visit from a Game Warden 😅
