Finally the Trade Rifle is ready to finish

Your rifle, your choice and whatever you do I'm sure it will look great. Have you ever considered red?

Starting my winter pistol build early

Moving along with Buttcap #2. This buttcap is rather deep...at least I think so. From the lip (not the tang) to the bottom of the bell it's .900. That's pushing a lot of metal around. I've learned from the first. I now have bigger diameter Dapping punches and once the bottom reached .030 in...

Opinions on product for glass bedding a stock that was overcut by a newbie

I’ve used Devcon on those rifles we can’t mention here. It works great, easy to use, but the downside would be its grey color. On a flintlock it would really out of place.

    What's wrong with this doe?

Thanks Gents. I’ve never seen nor got a pic of a doe around here that fat. Just unusual to see. (Lots of fat people….but not so much doe)

    What's wrong with this doe?

Hallmark channel……I wonder if she has cable or streams???

    What's wrong with this doe?

That one looks half deer\half cow

    What's wrong with this doe?

At first blush she looks fat. But, this is a wild out in the country doe that a buddy of mine got on his game cam. He's said he's seen it around his property. He won't shoot it as he's not sure if there's something wrong with it or if it's just fat. But just fat doesn't make sense as all other...

Opinions on product for glass bedding a stock that was overcut by a newbie

Using the "regular" stuff is like trying to control a runny nose on a sub-freezing day. I guess it can be done but not by me.

    Bend the sear bar up?

Agree. A bit of grinding will give you the clearance you’re looking for.

    Need help tuning lock

If you look at my picture, I’m suggesting to remove a small amount of material from that front “tail”. Not the foot. I suggest that as if the frizzen isn’t opening enough it may be helping the unwanted rebound.

If you're going to use Accraglass, (which is a very good product....I've used it often on "those other rifles") I'd suggest getting the "Gel" type as opposed to the original. The original is sort of like trying to heard cats.

Best product to clean neglected Thompson Center Hawken 50 Cal

The thing about "bad bore's" is you never know until you clean 'em up and shoot them. You could have one ugly looking bore after using scotchbrite\steel wool\etc and it will still shoot great. OTOH....you know the opposite could be as well. But work to smooth it up....then to the range!

How Powerful are Black Powder Guns?? - Ballistic High-Speed

Here's a summary of my BP firearm shooting over a Chronograph. First column is a 50 cal pistol 12" barrel shooting the Hornady Pa. Conical. Second, my 54 Cal shooting a PRB. Third my T\C with a replacement GM barrel shooting the Hornady Pa. Conical. And last the same T\C shooting a PRB. I can't...

Asking for help with a Rifle Shoppe Baker Rifle: groups at 50 yards have become dreadful.

Good advice on checking the wedge pins. I built a rifle this past summer and grouping were bad until I tweaked the wedge pins to have zero barrel movement in the stock. The barrel should have zero movement if you squeeze the barrel/stock by hand.

Starting my winter pistol build early

Well, sometimes things just don't go the way you think. Now, this was the first time I've ever peened a buttcap from sheet brass. So, there was a learning curve. What I learned was I kept peening the bottom of the cup thinking I would draw in the circumference, or outer lip of the cup. That...
