Is this Moroccan flintlock pistol authentic?

There were definitely repairs, one that questions the originality. The metal embellishments around the end look like they were broken and flexed. There is a nail holding up one of the broken pieces of metal which tells me that was repaired. It could be that they belonged on another pistol and...

Is this Moroccan flintlock pistol authentic?

I see, that's good to know. I wanted to look up some more information, wow, they designed some funky guns back then! That doesn't really surprise me though. It seems that between the pure fakes there were some cases of real guns being Frankenstein'd to make complete pieces. Regardless, these...

Would somebody be so kind as to help me identify this Flintlock?

Morphy's? Surprisingly, I have never heard of them. I'm not terribly far from York. But thanks for the info - I think I may take up that show!

I don't trust myself. 😅 Taking apart a gun scares to bejeezus out of me. I did pull out my sewing measuring tape and I think I've determined that the caliber is 45.

I agree, that's what I had thought. Typically a blunderbuss was used. Err... from what I've seen and studied. I believe the explanation that was said to me was that the longer barrel helped clear farther targets. But, you'd have to have pretty darn good aim.

Is this Moroccan flintlock pistol authentic?

Hello, I've got another head scratcher for you guys. I had posted another thread about a mystery 18th-Century flintlock rifle and now I have another question about another gun in my collection. So, I am not an expert on guns but I collect 18th-Century artifacts. This was purchased several...

That may be a trick of the light. Here's a better picture of the screw, it does look a little strange.

Would somebody be so kind as to help me identify this Flintlock?

You've actually jogged my memory a bit while I was thinking about your response - I recall the auction house telling me it was the barrel that was original and he believed the design work on it was something to "pass the time" on a ship. 🤷‍♀️ Which I am far past believing at this point. He did...

Would somebody be so kind as to help me identify this Flintlock?

Thank you for your input. I'm afraid my inexperience is showing, I am unsure of the caliber. I agree that it does look... off, but, yet again, I'm inexperienced so take my opinion for what it's worth. But what mostly sticks out to you?

So, it is definitely an odd gun. What other purpose could a gun like this really be for given the trigger guard?

Would somebody be so kind as to help me identify this Flintlock?

Hello, I'm hoping some of you may be able to help me identify this gun and maybe give me some friendly information about it's history. I had bought this gun several years ago and was told it was an 18th-Century boarding gun. Now, I am not a proficient gun collector, I collect items from the...
