    Thanks for everyone's advice I was able to shoot it out this morning was patient in working quite a bit of 4f through the touch hole. The brush did have a patch wrapped around it which helped. Can check off one more dumb thing not to do again.

    Patch or wad over powder.

    Hi folks have caught some online talk of using an additional patch or wad under a patched ball to cushion and protect it. Is anyone doing that if so has there been improved accuracy or other benefits? Thanks

    Just got my first flint lock

    I hunted with an Investarm Hawkin in .58 it was a percussion rifle, the quality was good and I didn't have any issues with it at all.
