    CVA Mountaineer

Won this today on GB. It's a pretty plain model. From what I've read it comes with a 28" barrel. 1 wedge, recoil pad on butt stock. No patchbox. Should take a bit to get here. Seller only deals in check, or Money Orders. More pics when it arrives. Most every search I do is coming back with...

Please help identify this crude kit rifle.

Worked on it some today, made up some screw escuthcheons from old 38 special cartridges. Re-inlet the trigger mechanism , and working on fitting screws to hold everything together. I picked up a short section of 1/4" galvanized pipe to make ramrod pipes. Need to find an appropriate piece of...

Please help identify this crude kit rifle.

Working on it a little the last couple of days. I don't expect to win any awards with this. I'm going to have to epoxy some wood back into the trigger area and rework the whole trigger assembly. I shifted the lock back about 1/8" and the trigger needs to go back about 1/4" . I fit the brass butt...

Please help identify this crude kit rifle.

I'm gonna try to polish this sows ear. I tried to shape the trigger guard and it broke where it had one of the 4 off center screw holes drilled. I may just get some 3/8 x 1/8" flat steel and make my own trigger Guard. Thinking of making it a half stock as the wood is extremely thin after the...

Please help identify this crude kit rifle.

Picked this up in trade a few years back. I literally have nothing into it. It has a 42" 50 cal. 7/8" barrel. The barrel and lock are both unmarked that I can tell. It is a pretty poorly put together kit. I hope to get a new piece of wood and start over completely. At this point I figure I...

    Cast iron dutch ovens

There's a shop in Twin Falls that still carries a few Maca ovens I believe it's called "happy camper" . From what I understand they were doing pre- orders, and then going into production. They're made in India now instead of Utah, so not as desirable.

    Cast iron dutch ovens

Good evening all, new here , wanting to see if anyone else is into cast iron cooking. Living in Florida I don't use them as much as I did whem I lived in Idaho. However I kept and few and still occasionally use them. I have a couple of the standard 12" lodge and camp chef dutch ovens, and a 14"...

    New member Florida panhandle

Good morning , I have been lurking for a bit, just now joined. I've been interested in muzzleloaders for close to 40 years. In high school I became interested in civil war reenacting. My first was a Parker Hale 2 band Enfield (1858?). Then my girlfriend at the time bought me a brass frame 1851...
