Yes. Stick to Ear shots. Don't try to shoulder shoot it with a .40 unless you are positive it's a small one, 75 lbs or less. Don't shoot it head on in the forehead. You'll be fine.

The few set triggers I've used would fire on the front alone (albeit with more pressure) but with the rear set the front was much, much lighter.

I know. Funny thing is, that rifle shoots real good and I've never missed anything else I ever shot at with it or any of my other flintlocks. I think it was global warming or something.
