    Synthetic stock

    The local gun shop had a CVA percussion sidelock with 2 barrels- 12 gauge and .54 caliber. The shotgun barrel appears unfired and the rifle barrel is clean and well cared for. One problem, the stock is a black synthetic. If this gun had a wood stock I would have walked out the door with it...

    Seasoning the barrel

    Thanks to all! The gun is a modern one, and the book that came with it said it needed up to 200 rounds through it to settle. I thought this might have been the same as seasoning.

    New with Crockett

    I am getting into traditional muzzleloading again after a 15 year hiatus. I just purchased a .32 caliber Crockett for walks in the woods of central and northern New England. You little red squirrels watch out! :hatsoff:
