    Mowrey rifle Fourstock attachment?

After removing the Fourstock from the barrel by pulling the forward pin I noticed no pin for the rear but a wood dowel inside without a way to attach it to stock. Anyone else with a Mowrey noticed this and what is a better way to secure stock, have my ideas but just lookin for other ideas.

Original Sharps 1859 Rifle Berdan Configuration

I managed to secure a Sharps rifle and bayonet of the Berdan configuration with both the OWA inspection stamp on the barrel and JT cartouche on the stock along with double set triggers and no lever lock. The serial number 57143 is in what I understand to be the correct range for potential issue...

    Great-Grandfathers half stock/smooth bore rifle

Hey All! I could really use some help I identifying this half-stock rifle. I've done a ton of research and all I can come up with is that it might be an english hunting rifle, or shotgun. It was my great grandfathers, who brought it to the U.S. from Sweden in the 1900s. My dad took it apart...

    Lyman Trade Rifle

Howdy pards, I managed to get a NIB Lyman trade rifle, 50 cal percussion. Finally took her out and I am flabbergasted by the accuracy of this thing. It’s got the 28” barrel with a 1 in 48 twist. I did some experimenting and found 65 g of 2f to be the best load. I’m shooting a .490 Hornady round...

    .62 cal speed loaders available

Tonight a visit to Bass Pro for one thing led to a search for other things not necessarily on “the purchase list,” but things I’ve wondered about and tried elsewhere without success. One such thing is finding a speed loader for the .62 rifle and I suppose for any .62 caliber firearm. The ones...

    The .62 rifle took a 2022 deer

This week is early muzzleloader season here in Pennsylvania. We can take antlerless deer and black bear. It’s probably my favorite season for a slew of reasons: Beautiful Fall weather (usually), leaves turning color, game animals not yet on high alert and pretty easy to stalk or call in, the...

Drew a PA elk tag, gonna need a ton o’ practice 😳

Drawing a Pennsylvania elk tag, bull or cow, is a once in a lifetime event, if ever. Only 21 years passed of applying annually and accruing preference points before I drew a cow elk tag on Saturday. Immediately several friends called or texted me and basically said “I hate you, you lucky SOB.”...

Advice / Help with Removing Paint off of a Hawken Rifle

Hello freetrappers! I acquired this Hawken from a good friend. He had difficulty selling thanks to this terrible tan paint job. You can see just a glimpse of the beautiful red finish underneath near the lock. Do you recommend using a heatgun or paint stripper? I'd personally go with the heat...

Anyone get consistent group out to 300 yards?

I had changed out the factory sights on my Investarms Model 120A rifle due to a wandering zero with the factory sights. The new Lyman 57 GPR tang sight has me thinking about attempting to reach out to steel targets at the three hundred yard line. Anyone do this with a similar rifle?
