There is an article in the July/August 08 issue of Backwoodsman Magazine written about shooting a 10 gauge SXS muzzle loader.

He has an interesting way of making paper shot/powder cups.

Shoot safely you don't want to fly in an EMS helicopter.

I have that magazine.I enjoy Backwoodsman, too bad it's not a monthly.I read that article. While it was interesting ,I don't think I will use it.It's too complicated, not to construct mind you, maybe "busy" is the right word.I use paper shot cups,if one wishes to call them such.Think of a paper cartridge containing shot.I drop powder,o/p card, cushion wad, paper cartridge w/ top torn open,o/s card. All that poking holes in this wad and gluing things together.I don't know.It just seemed more complicated that my method,to me,that's all. Please don't misunderstand me,I am not knocking the article.I always am willing to listen to new ideas. If they work for someone then I think that's great.Of course,I don't use loading blocks either,I make paper cartridges.I tear open the bottom, dump the powder drop the ball in my hand, put a lubed patch on the muzzle, the run the ball down. That's my version of a "speed load",lol.Best regards,J.A.
