Nice front yard! Very kool, these guns will do way more than people think.

I've shot my 58 Remington to 200 yards with balls, it shot better than I expected.
I have a tang peep sight coming for my revolving carbine, I'm going to shoot it out to 200yds with balls and conicals and see what it will do. It's a good shooter, we'll see how it does.

25 grains of Goex 3F. No filler or wad. .457 round ball.

I’ve been playing around all day. Finally got a chance to play with a Pietta dance brothers I bought a few months ago. Loaded the chambers up with 20 grains of Goex 3F and 20 grains of cream of wheat and .457 cast balls. This is the virgin group I got out of this gun at 25 yards from a rest. I’m kind of scratching my head because this group is as good or better than the groups I was shooting earlier with my old army. This Pietta is straight out of the box. I’m moving forward with further study on this one!!

I remember in my early years, a fellow pistol shooter used to set milk bottles at 100yard to shoot at with his revolver. He did not do it free hand, but laid on the ground with one knee up for support. Dead bottles!

I think Pietta had their best guys bore the cylinders and barrel, and fit the Dance revolvers because mine shoots a Softball sized group at 50 yards, standing, one handed and blows ragged holes from a sandbag at 25

It also loves 30 gr of 1F and a wool wad, with a .454 ball

The action seems just a little better than my other Piettas. I guess they did an extra good job on this recent batch

Well I used my last two shots of the day at my 100 yard plate with the Pietta Dance. 50/50 on that attempt.

I had a Pietta 1860 last winter, 2021 production. This target was 25yds offhand, 2 cylinders. 30grs Goex 3f, lubed wad, .454 ball. The ones out of the black are my fault, it was a shooter! Those Piettas definitely perform

I wonder if the 45 cal balls do a bit better than the 50's? I haven't done a lot of 100 yard work with my pistols but it seems like the 50s drop a lot after 75 yards but are totally same point of impact at 25 and 50.

I’ve never experimented at those ranges with pistols as far as groups. I have a plate at 75 yards and that one at 100. I’m blessed that I live in the boonies and can shoot anytime I want. I sit on the porch and plink at those plates all the time with different handguns just for fun. I can wear that 100 yard plate out with my cz75, walther pp, makarov and Ruger single six. Yesterday was the first time I’d even tried with BP revolvers.

the range that I used to be a member of before I moved here had some metal pigs @ 100 that I would occasionally ding with my pistols but I never put a piece of paper out there. I can only get about 60yrds out of my back yard where I live now. the only time I tried to paper my my trapper at 100+ it was in a friends field and just paced out not measured. it seemd like i was dropping about 10 inches @ 100 but I use the same hold for 25 and 50.

what do you have for security Six? I bought mine in .357 in 1980 . I could not hit anything with the tiny stock grips and put Pachmires on it which made it very accurate.

I wish I could hold that steady again. At 85 I picked up the gremlins that swing on my barrels.
