11th hour and 55th min................

it came down to 11th hour and the 55th min. one and only deer came down off the wooded hill side....took it's time in the woods as the light was fading away, then it moved out into the field bout 60 yards out in front of me on a slow walk to my left dead broad side....gave a bhaaa to git her to stop she did....i pulled the trigger and spark but no flash :cursing:....she looked to where that click came from and as i recocked and closed the frizzen she thought that was enough and waved by to me with her tail across the road the train tracks and up into the community to safety....waited till bout 5:15 and went back to my car, and guess what happened....yup the gun went off as i fired it to unload :surrender: ....4 misses, 1 lost deer, 1 deer in the freezer, all in 6 days hunting that i put in since dec. 14th....not bad fer a guy that can't walk to straight yet from that little turd i had in my head :v ..............bob

Too bad about the missfire. I had that happen once. Now I try and change my prime more often hopin' it won't happen again.
I'm goin' out tomorrow for our last doe day of the season. Takin' the .54 GPR flintlock.

my 3f prime stayed nice and dry....the flint just didn't give enough sparks that time, of all times not to right :v ...............bob

Well, I got outa bed and went huntin'.
On the way I stopped at the gas station and got me a bottle of anti-Omen potion too. :thumbsup: It said "RC COLA" right on the bottle! I figger COLA stands fer Cures Omens Like Anything.
It's a evil lookin' black elixer but it weren't too bad tastin'. I drunk a whole bottle of the stuff but I never got to find out if the "hangfirer Omen" is offa me or not. No does would show theirselfs. All them bambis are safe from me until next fall now. :v
