I was lucky to come across this pistol recently.
I found some information on it & found the history interesting.
A new lock upgrade way back when
I found out is a patern 1839 Sea service pistol made by tower.this 1 was made in 1844( It's on the lock) & from the information from book has the upgraded 1842 lock installed.
