Howdy Folks,

Put 15 shots through a new Uberti pocket revolver yesterday. Worked great. Cleaned it today, complete disassembly. Worked the action a few times, but now the cylinder will not rotate unless I help it a bit. Can't put it at half or full-cock unless I move the cylinder until it catches.

What should I look at? Hand spring issue or maybe cylinder stop?

Thanks as usual.

James

Are you sure you thoroughly cleaned the channel in the frame, in which the hand goes up and down?
Might be a cap fragment lodged in there. This is an area often overlooked in cleaning. A cotton swab will usually clean it well.
I'd check that, and examine the curved spring on the hand for breakage or damage. It may be bent and rubbing.

If you removed the flat 2 leaf trigger spring (as I'm sure you did), you probably installed it backwards.

As I recall, holding the gun upside down with the barrel pointed towards you, the longer leaf goes on the left side and rests on a little ledge on the front side of the trigger.

If my memory is poor try reversing the spring 'tuther way around.

After installing the trigger/bolt spring you should be able to fully operate the hammer to both half cock and full cock with the cylinder bolt (stop) engaging like it should.

Once you make sure things are working right then you can reinstall the trigger guard etc.
