Just for the heck of it I stopped at a yard sale today and almost crapped my pants when I saw a older gent standing next to a table full of guns.

Most appeared unfired and were from his uncles estate. It was late afternoon and he said most of the guns he had were sold earlier...dang I wish I could of been there when he opened.

I bought two, this unfired steel framed CVA .44 and a mint mossberg 151m .22

My question is who made it for CVA, when it was made and how does it rate as far as repros go?

Thanks

Good find!
Your Remington was proofed in 1982 in Italy.

I have a 3rd Model Dragoon that was imported by CVA about the same time as your gun was made.
It was made by Armi San Paolo who later became Euroarms Italia.

While not quite as well finished as a Uberti many of these guns were very serviceable. Probably as good as a Pietta.
I have had no problems with my Dragoon.

Jim, your new '58 seems to have a taller front sight than usual. Shouldn't have any problems with it shooting high like most C&B revolvers. Good find, I keep meaning to drop into some yard sales....never know what you'll find!

Nice find! I have an occasional dream where I stop in at a garage sale and can't load the ridiculously low priced guns into my car fast enough. Haven't found that magic place yet tho. :rotf:

wow!! sounds like some good finds to me, you just never know where something is going to pop up! That revolver looks really sweet, i am sure you will be happy with it. I kinda stumbled across a couple full stock Mossy's lately myself, a 51m and a 151m. the 51 is going to need some tlc, but the other was a shooter even before cleaning. i seem to have two firearm fetishes, nearly anything blackpowder, and old Mossberg firearms, they are highly underrated.

keep searching those sales,
