I would like to know what caliber this pistol is. The bore is about .5" so I don't think it's a 40 or 45. 50 caliber maybe?

My enfield pistols are .54 and .58

Is there a way to transpose from physical measurements to caliber? I always thought you go by the bore in inches.
The measurement is the caliber so .50=50 cal .54=54cal .58=58 cal. and so on. A 50cal takes a .490 patched ball. One way I check is to take a .490 ball and .10 patch material large enough to grab it and pull the ball from the muzzle.
