I bought a dirty ASM 1860 with brass frame for 70.00 . The Brass grip, trigger guard, and main frame seems to have rough cosmetics from the factory, but structurally is fine. I have heard that it is best to replace old ASMs with Uberti internals. I would like to hear if anyone here has done that and had success putting Uberti or Pietta parts oon an ASM 1860.
Thanks for any help.

I think I would clean up the revolver and then do some shooting first before replacing anything. That way you can check the timing, lock-up and cylinder gap etc while having some fun. You might save yourself a bit of money and grief. The cosmetic stuff can be taken care of later if you choose. :hmm:

Good advise! Find out how it shoots before throwing new parts at it.
