any idea what size threads on a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield? Lodgewood has a cleaning thingy that screws into nipple that allows cleaning the gun without removing the stock by dropping the end into a bucket of water and drawing it up thru the nipple via tubing. their ad says the product has 5/16 x18 .was wondering if it would fit. Thanks

I read somewhere that Pedrsoli used 1/4 x 28 But they are more likely to use metric. Someone here will know. Have you tried using a TPI gauge?

TOTW sells flush nipples in 8 different threads. 8mm x 1mm is one of them. So if DeeTV is correct your search is over. If it is one of the other 7 threads just order the right one.

'morning,

I got some of those in a batch buy that I did years ago. They don't really work all that well, tried one once and then they went into the spare parts drawer.

But keep in mind that you can make your own if you really want that sort of thing. Just put some tight fitting tubing over your current cone. Or, if you have an old cone, drill it out to increase the flow.

To come up with answers to questions like this, I prefer to go to the manufacturer's web site to see if the answer can be found there.

The illustrated parts breakdown shows the nipple (part 11) as a 8 X 1.

The US Springfield was the 5/16 X 18.

Unfortunately, in their listing for the nipples. part number 036U481003, which is for the Mississippi, Richmond, Springfield 1861 and Zouve, doesn't specify the threads.

Steel nipples set, Accessories Wrenches & Nipples . (davide-pedersoli.com)

That would mean a trip to the local hardware store with nipple in hand to do a trial fit on their thread test board.
