Squirrels got another on to worry about!
Just something about hunting with these old guns!

And the back action lock is operating? That's a beautiful old gun. Too nice not to put over the mantle (and maybe take down and shoot once in a rare while).

nice find! that is an european style single barreled hunting fowler from about the late 1890 i guess - made in Belgium (hence, the ELG proof).

congrats for that good looking gun! :hatsoff:

My nipple wrench was too small. After soaking about 1 1/2 day,and a trip to Dixons,(Thanks Greg)nipple has been replaced.
Scrubbed the barrel with 0000 steel wool on a brass brush, with PB Blaster and a drill.
Any thoughts on how high to make the front sight?A groove is there just missing. Was thinking about taping a piece of thin cardboard on and trim at the range till I get close.Might use a piece of copper.

Very nice find. I don't ever come across good things like you guys, must be the area I am in. Tree rats be on the lookout for sure :shocked2:

At Dixon's, against the back wall, in the left hand corner of the store past the clothes rack, you'll find sheet metal like brass and copper...
