Howdy, all.
Picked up a powder horn today. Nice shape and color, but a little too "new" looking. How do you about "toning it down" just a little?

2) There was a post on here a while back of a guy showing off some woven straps he had made. I've read the post, but can't seem to locate it now. I know he had some pics that had like four straps in them, and he said he could leave the ends for attaching to bags, or use braintan if they were to be used on a horn. Can someone please direct me to that posting?

Thanks so much,

Hugh

you can use 000 or0000 steelwool to nock down the shine a bit and then just use it the blackpowder you get on your hands when shooting will gradualy age it and give it a nice used look

Thanks for the info......

And an update...I found the post I was looking for.

Thanks again...will try the steel wool

Hugh

You can also use pumice, and rottenstone to take down that " shine ". Those are available at hardware and paint stores. A little goes a long way, so buy the smallest quantity sold.
