Offering a 20-gauge English style half-stock fowler by Clay Smith. Stock is in a very nice dark walnut, no dings or scratches. As Clay Smith is known for, fit and finish throughout the gun is exceptional. All iron hardware has been browned to match the barrel. Handling is light and this gun just feels balanced and elegant in hand.
The 40-inch barrel is browned, fitted with a silver front sight, and is octagon to round with a nice transition right at the end of the forestock. Bore is bright and shiny, cylinder bore. Barrel is retained by two wedge pins, however the gun does not have a hooked breech. The trigger is relatively light for a single. Lock is an L&R, which has been a reliable sparker for me when I use shorter flints. The L&R is appropriate for an English style gun.
It has patterned well for me at 25-30 yards from 7/8 to 1 1/4 oz of shot, with my preferred load being 1oz shot with 65 gr 2F.
Just under 7.5lbs, overall length 55.5 inches, with 13.75 LOP
