Today was the firearm opener in Mi.
I took my .50 perc as always in hopes of getting a deer.
This lil fella made my day special.
One shot at 20 yards knocked him to the ground for keeps.
I'll cut and wrap this one in the morning.
Thanks go out again to Len Graves for building me a darn accurate rifle!

That's a monster from I'm from. The antler may be small, but the body's aweful big.

Conical or PRB? Our regular deer season opens this weekend. Jezabel is ready. She has already killed a doe and she is eager to kill a buck. I feed her 80 grains of 3fg Goex and a patched ball to keep her happy. Stay out all day as i have found that deer travel more near lunchtime and evening. Weather man predicts cold opener. anyways, that looks like some mighty fine eatin'

Sorry all I was "huntingworkingandstuff"
Thanks for the complements first off.....
The load is a patched round ball, those gold remingtons shoot good for me and a .15 factory made patch and 90 grains
of FFG
I saw two does the next day, one busted me and I was thinking she was heading upwind when all the sudden her girlfriend ran right out in front of me heading downwind!
Passed on a bouncy 20 yard shot as it was getting towards fading light and foggy too.
So I sat for 10 minutes waitng for Mr big but he never showed.
Now I have a doe tag left and a restricted tag that requires the buck to be 4 points or better on one side.
Anyhow I have plenty of hunting to do and I'm really not in a hurry to get that done and over.
I'll be brain tanning the hide and trying to make enough money soon to buy me another gun kit, an English Fowler.
I really just love being in the woods with a Blackpowder gun.
Just seems so natural and fun!
