The are pretty. I'd like to have one mounted on my man cave wall.
If you get one Ed, ship it to me. I’ll mount it for you. It’s what I do!

I have not been aware that we have red squirrels in this portion of SW Ohio until the other day. Thinking it a small grey squirrel I was looking at only research online to find it a completely different animal altogether. What a pretty little creature. Was thinking it is a species not allowed, as I only see greys and fox squirrels around here, but was glad to check the ODNR booklet to note that red squirrels are legal game in this state.
Many years ago while hiking in a state park we saw a flying squirrel holding fast to the side of a large tree about our head height. Those are very rare and definitely off limits to hunt. Not much bigger than a chipmunk, whereas the red squirrel looks to be about twice the size of a chipmunk. Still smaller than gray by about half.
Two Fox Squirrels hopped past my window as I typed this. Glad to have a healthy population of these critters around, to hunt and watch.

We are going out this afternoon. I only see gray squirrels but a neighbor caught a fox squirrel in her attic so I released it in my woods but I have never seen one here in the wild. Back in northern Ohio we had just fox and had to go south th find grays. I sure miss the big ones.

There’s a guy on YouTube that went after the Ohio squirrel grand slam in one day. Black, gray, red and fox. It took him all day but he got it. He used a shotgun and was a fun video. I’ve watched it a couple times.

Did not know that. I’ll bet they were nicer looking than mine. Lol
when you’re used to nice looking rifles, air guns are butt ugly.
but if mine gets me a black squirrel, it will go up several notches with me. I REALLY want one!View attachment 255898
My Mothers place outside of Cincinnati is covered with black squirrel. Last summer she had a white one hangin around for the summer. Let me look for the photos of that one.

Here is a pic of the white squirrel. View attachment 256262
That’s cool. I’ve mounted several albino squirrels for people but never seen one. I will say that if a black squirrel and an albino were in front of me at the same time, I’d shoot the black one. I REALLY want one lol.
