Definitely not a fun time. My parents live right on the Nolichucky. They are only one of four houses left on their road. I pray your mom’s surgery went well.
It did. Thank you. My parents had their trailer on the curve of the river just off where 26 collapsed. It’s no longer there. Luckily all the family and friends are safe and healthy. Things can be replaced.

on a Facebook page. Big bucks Maine.

That's kinda nice.. I'd like one with horns like that and all.. kinda like moose antlers.

Anyone watch Tom Miranda hunting..

I never watch TV hunting much etc.. I wonder if it's real.

I saw somtin about him in Maine trapping... if it's Maine it's not fake I wonder if he is for real.

I'm thinking of following him his shows etc and see what I think.

I had a customer who is got talking with who told me he quit hunting after he was small game hunting and a bow hunter in a tree called out from behind him. He immediately turned and fired his shotgun into the tree. Didn't hit the guy, luckily for both. Vietnam Vet with issues.

Yeah, I never tell anyone where I caught something big or where I saw or killed an animal. I might see a ton of deer or elk or even killed one but when anyone asks "seen anything" my answer is always "nope, not a thing". 😈
dang if I was the guy in the tree I would have wet my pants and fell out of the tree.

@ETipp 's thread has strayed WAY off of squirrel hunting (sorry Ed), but the above made me remember a funny tree stand event I'll relate: I'm up in a stand, deep woods, Appalachian big timber in TN, miles from nearest road or house, freezing my cojones off, and I hear something in the leaves, coming up the holler right at me, keeps coming, buck fever / heart races, cock gun. Get ready here he comes...... and an old man in a bright blue jogging suit comes jogging right at me, puffing out frozen breath like a steam locomotive. He's got his walkman with ear phones on, staring down where he puts his feet, oblivious, no orange on, it's deer season, dude. Jogs right past my tree, off into the distance. Never saw me, never even looked up. I later asked around and no one from that area has a clue who that yayhoo was.

..
Well we feed and water Cattle, Sheep; Goats; Geese; Turkeys; Ducks and Chickens before killed for Meat, is there any difference ?

I wouldn't consider it going hunting..

I could buy and or raise an animal. kill it and eat it. Yes why not. That's not hunting though.

I shot a meat size pig for not a bad price years ago. it was not hunting at all but it was good to eat.

The guys I went with shot 1 of everything there was no challenge none of it was hunting. That's what they do for meat for the year. They fill to freezers. They hunt those places every year to fill a freezer like that, they would tell you it's not hunting.

Here.. they shot that day
2 doe elk
1 stag
2 boar
2 fallow deer
1 Buffalo

All head shots.

Everything they shot.. they shot enough that they got a discount.

I think they said it comes to 3 dollars a pound for meat.

The Buffalo was the best deal because of size. That was about 1.5 dollars a pound.

We did spend the first half of the day running around to see everything in there and pick out the fat ones. 3 of us. We all went a different direction. the elk because he had to run the whole fence line 2 times to catch them. That was cool. And the elk didn't like us they were the only ones.

They were picky about it kinda.

We had lunch and talked about it.

Went back out.. the big one was the Buffalo they wanted the bigger one. It makes a difference.

You can Make it harder to kill something there. Those game farms

Don't call them.. don't chase them.
Umm no feeders hunting. Etc..

The elk we had to do a small drive push to get the second. We ran to the other side to chase them back to the guy waiting.

I've heard though people say that it's not even close to elk hunting also. There's a fence and it's an elk...
