My friend who I work with loves playing with mlers, and he made himself a .22 cal LR. He has been trying to find an actual "production" rifle in .22. Does anyone know of any and if so where he might pick one up at? No idea why he wants such a small caliber, to each their own I guess.

I've got two of these. While I cannot think of a practical use for them, they are an absolute hoot to fire. Killing soda cans at 5 paces is a great way to pass the time. And you wouldn't believe the noise they make.

I knew a guy in Pennsylvania that built a 22 caplock. he used a 22 mag casing as a measure and 22 airgun pellets for ammo. They acted just like little minie balls. The skirt on the pellet expanded to fit the rifleling. The thing was deadly and cheap to shoot. It would turn a starling into a cloud of feathers. I admit it was fun to watch.

eat moose meat, do we know the same guy, Quintin, probably not but that is pretty much exactly what he built, even as far as using the casing for a powder measure and a .22 cal pellet.

I cant remember his name for the life of me. He goes to the union cty shoot. He makes most of his guns from a maple tree that was diseased by a fungus turning the wood almost olive green . Very neat looking. He also has a bunch of kids in the sport too.

I would be interested in the brand of pellets he uses. I have tried pellets with very, very, low power (like no more than a small pistol primer) and it blows the thin center right out of them.

Use Crossman Premier pellets, or if you want more 'stopping power', Ein Jung makes heavy 32gr pelltes, kind of like a .22 short slug. You can get these at Mac-1 airguns. Mac-1 Airguns
