If you mean approximately a .270" (28 caliber) ball Jeff Tanner is the only source I know of. I got my 30 caliber (.290") mold from him and it's stellar. Service was quick, too. Other than that, if you'd rather not cast, the best option might be a jug of #2 buckshot from Ballistic Products at the same .270". I got a jug of their #2 1/2 buck (.290") at the same time I got the mold and have shot the buck side by side with the molded. The buck is slightly hardened, but my rifle sure didn't seem to notice the difference. I was surprised just how uniform the buck diameter has turned out to be.

One more point to follow with what Claude has said, if in fact you mean 28 gauge rather than 28 caliber, refer to this chart and you'll see that's a bore of .550, probably translating into using a .540 or .530 ball with the patch thickness adjusted for a good bore fit.

You beat me to it. Jeff Tanner can make a round ball mold in any diameter you require. And they're top shelf.

Fred is about my age, he must have fallen asleep at the key board.

Lee will also custom cut a mold for you, don't remember the cost but it's reasonable.

Thanks everyone. I truly did mean 28 cal and was able to find what I was looking for. Being shipped today. Appreciate the help.

.28 caliber huh? You getting to play with Col. Colt's "Baby" Peterson or "Baby" Root? :haha:
