3 “English” Style Trade Knives

Finished up three knives this evening. Now to get some sheaths made. 1095 carbon steel blades, two with walnut scales and one with what I believe is oak (middle). I made them full tang as opposed to the more PC half tang. Epoxy and three peened steel pins hold the scales in place.

Should be good working knives, but if PC is ever a concern, English blades were pretty thin and not scandi ground. On average scalper sizes, 1/16" to 3/32" thick with a distal taper. Not a major problem but scandi grinds do cause some amount of drag in cutting material thicker than the grind angle including meat. Your pins are nicely done.

Thank you for the information! These knives are 0.08” or 2/25” so within your range. I’ll try and change my grind on my next batch.

Nice looking scalping knives. Glad mine isn't fit for anyone's lodgepole.
