FYI...the set of longer .62cal Flint smoothbore barrels that GM said they were going to make after the holidays just finished the barrel construction phase.

This particular run is a longer 33" version of drop-in barrels for the 1" T/C Hawken/Renegade stocks.

Going into bluing & polishing operation this week...final assembly & packing first two weeks of February.

Should get it by end of February, and have March to verify Turkey loads before April Turkey season.

Roundball do you know the price?
Was supposed to get back to me today with the final price but didn't...probably get it tomorrow...will let you know.

PS:
If you order it directly through GM, you'll pay full MSRP.....but if you order it through a BP supplier, you'll pay a normal price.

I happen to use Ed & Scott Cain, Cain's Outdoor, West VA...a good size TC and GM dealer...has ordered GM barrels for me in the past and is ordering this one.....then GM just direct ships them to me rather than waste time shipping it to him first...

PS:

FYI...GM's .62cal barrels are not actually .620" bore diameter...they are .610"

More Info:

GM's special run was quantity 48, and their MSRP is $223.00.

If you contact Scott and/or Ed Cain at Cain's Outdoor in West Va., their list price will be $205.50.

If you contact them and reference this discussion as a referral, you can get it for $185.00.

Does anyone make, or has plans to make, a drop in 15/16" small bore smoothy for the TC?

Don't know how small you're looking for but GM makes a 15/16" .54/.28ga Flint Smoothbore for the Hawken...an excellent barrel

yesterday, I picked up a smoothbore 50 cal barrel at the local gun shop. It was labled "t/c hawken" on the price tag, but there's nothing stamped or engraved any where on the barrel. and the rear sight didn't look like one of thompson's, but that doesn't matter any ways, the 1st thing I did was take it off! I plan to use this in the smootbore class at biathlon.it took 15 mins with a small file to get it to fit my trade gun stock.I took it out today and shot a 3-1/2 inch 8 shot group at 20yds,using 50 grs 3f, 490 ball & .015 t/c patch.

I've heard about the barrel you described a couple times in the past...made to fit a TC but I never heard who made it...good luck with your plans

This barrel was most likely made by Sharron Barrel Co. who made many smoothbore drop-ins for T/C (.56cal. for Renegade & .50 cal. for Hawken)
