So this gun is made in 1986. It does have AP on it. I mixed it up with another one I have imported by Navy Arms. That one has the AL. Sorry all.
I took a few more pictures.
The cylinder has on it: Engraved by and I couldn't get the 1st 2 initials but the rest reads Ormsby New York and it also has Colts Patent No.
Almost forgot. The Colt address is not on the barrel. It is a plain barrel.

I have one with the colt address do you have info on them?
Story goes (Cap and Ball Revolver.com) that Lou Imperato ran Colt Black Powder Arms which made the Colt 3rd generation pistols and when the company went out of business in 2002 Imperato left ASM (Armi San Marco) in Italy holding the bag on a bunch of pistol parts that ASM had produced for Colt Black Powder Arms but were no longer needed. Most of the parts were pistol barrels with the Colt address on top. So ASM decided to use the barrels on the their ASM pistols and sell them. So now you have 1851's, 1860's, Dragoon's, Walkers, etc. with Colt Addressed barrels on top, ASM marked on underside of the barrel, and Italian proof marks and date codes by the serial numbers. Some have San Marco on the side of the receiver and some don't. They also had some that have ASM Black Powder Only Italy stamped on the bottom side of the barrel between the loading lever and barrel. Some different variations of those markings also. Story goes Colt complained about these Colt marked pistols and US customs stopped the importing of them but some did make it into the country. Who knows how many.

There are also people who say the Colt marked parts used by ASM came from leftover Colt 2nd gen parts. I am inclined to go with that theory instead of the one that says the parts are from 3rd gen pistols because the ones I have seen have date codes in the early to mid eighties. So how and why would post 2002 (3rd gen) barrels with ASM markings end up on 1982, 83, or 84 dated frames from ASM. Lot of arguement over which is right.

All of the ones I have seen do not have the San Marco on the receiver and are marked ASM on the underside of the barrel. They are not very common and considered collectable.

From what I have seen of them for sale If in nice condition they seem to run around $75 to $100 more than a regular Italian import of the same model in the same condition.

Not all the
Btw, this is an Armi San Marco. That’s the ASM logo
Only some ASM pistols are marked with that ASM logo. Armi San Marco had at least six different types of marking. The logo like in your photo, ASM, Armi San Marco, San Marco, S. Marco, and SM. Here is a picture of a Colt addressed ASM 1860 fluted. No ASM logo by the serial numbers and proofs. Only ASM under the barrel.

I have a Dragoon with the logo and ASM under the loading lever. Not sure when they started putting the logo or if they still do. I was just stating that is the ASM logo. And I think that model with the square trigger guard is called the 2nd model 1851

I figured that is what you were doing but thought I would throw in some of the other ways ASM marked them also. I am kinda thinking the S and M inside the A like you showed was an early mark. I think I have one that has two types of logo’s on it also. So many variations on all these different pistols. Someone should do a book on them.
