Gents I bought this Dragoon years ago at a gun show in Rock Springs Wyoming. it is marked PN under a crown, AN inside a partial square the serial is prefixed with an A. There are no black powder warnings stamped on the barrel or frame. I notice it does have a similar mark to my Uberti London Colt, but there is no U in a surround anwhere.
It seems a quality piece, well finished and cylinder timing and alignment are very good. Shoots a treat. Just need to know what it is so I can get spares etc

I also have a 3rd Dragoon with no maker's marks, but with the usual Italian year-of-manufacture and proof. Nice quality: good metal finish, crisp action, and attractive grips. Could have been made by any of several Italian makers.

Purchased in the early 1980's from EMF, an importer in CA. This company still exists, http://www.emf-company.com/

Some suggested my piece was made by Euroarms, and not marked due to some perceived liability/import regulations.

The original brass front sight was way too low. It was a press fit, and I made another much higher version.

Hope your piece is as nice as mine. We may never know who made them.

Wet Willie,
thanks for the reply, guess you are right may never know. I do know it has the same thread on the cones as my Uberti London Navy, and the same threads as my Santa Barbara Remington. Guessing it may be quite early for a modern repro as my Remingon dates from the early 70s, and the London colt I have had for nearly 30 yrs as well. The Dragoon is a ver nice pistol and works a treat. When I picked it up I was staying with a riflesmith mate in Vernal Utah, so we fitted a new front sight and zeroed it in for 25 yards.

Cheers

The "PN" mark is the Gardone & Brescia proof mark and the "AN" is the year mark for 1985. Not sure why an Italian gun of that vintage would not have the warning stamping but anything's possible though it may be well hidden. A couple attempts have been made to delete these markings and this may be one of them.

Some ASM's I have seen were barely marked with a tiny "ASM" or "MARCO" under the lever and no warnings. I had a 2nd model dragoon like that with "Colt" on the barrel which ASM did on the early ones ( that one was serial # in the low 1,000's) so a low serial #?

Jaxenro, serial is A24310 there is a star within a circle above the letter PN, the other mark is hard to tell but Star in within a circle, over a shield within which is crossed swords with what may be some sort of flower over the top of said swords. I bought this pistol in about 1990. I have rechecked the whole pistol no warnings anywhere, and no sign of anything being buffed or ground off.

Zonie,
thanks, and thanks Ogre, my london navy is marked AB so guess it is a 1976 manufacture. The Dragoon has not another mark to show maker, so guess will remain a mystery. Thanks again you blokes.

cheers
