3rd times a charm

Patches shot 2 times each. Will get another session out of them. I pick them up after shooting just to keep the range tidy. But they still look ok.

I often reuse the plastic shot cups for modern shotguns, but I never tried reusing patches. It shows you have a well fitting patch and ball combo in a good condition barrel, no rips, tears , or burned through spots.

Once at a range some one asked me where I got my pink cleaning patches. I told him I had been trying to rip up the flannel night gown my wife's great aunt had given her for several years and I finally did it.

One of our dearly departed members used to recycle them. He would put them in a nylon stocking and tie a knot in it then throw them in with the wash. Never did get a report on how many uses he would get out of one patch.

I started watching for them because of fire hazard In the dry grass and just kept picking them up. Now it’s just habit.

Like I have tried to tell my Wife, "That's what a washing machine is for " She will not wash my dirty jeans with any other laundry.
