very nice piece, it must have been a made to order piece. don't know of a gunsmith that would make one like that for kicks or practice, to costly. anyways looks great.

What a beautiful old gun. Amazing concept too. I wish there were more repros available of the exotics like that. Thanks for the pics.

It's interesting, the barrel is marked using Latin letters not Cyrilic. Was the gun made for export?, or were all his pistols marked like that.

Johann Adolf Grecke worked for Catherine II, Empress of all the Russias.
Catherine was born Sophia Augusta Frederika of Anhalt-Zerbst on April 21, 1729 in Stettin, then Germany.So.....

Great photos! Did you do it yourself?

If you have a chance, visit the palace of Karlsruhe. They have an extensive collection of arms looking quite modern. As the prince Eugen (ruler of the area at the time - don't remember if he was a Bourbon or a Zähringer) was involved in the battle against the Moors, at Vienna, there is a lot of very interesting booty gained from them.

undertaker,
You sure do come up with some cool pics  Thanks for sharing
