What is the rifling twist best suited for roundballs in a .40 cal gun? Thanks

My 42" Colerain 40cal. has a 1-48" twist. Does very well for me from 20gr. up to my max load of 65gr. Is it the best twist? Just depends what you are trying to do. If you wanted to really load the powder to her, you may want a slower twist, but then it may not shoot as well with low powder charges.

Are you one that likes to stoke large amounts of powder to shoot very hot loads at high velocity or are you a lighter load target shooter?

I have a 1/48 that is quite accurate and I enjoy loading it down for use on small game. I have a good friend that favors very hot loads and shoots a 1/66.

We were often close in scores, but loaded very differently.

I run 30 gr of fff in my 1 in 48 twist and it works great for paper matches at 25 and 50 yds.
