.40cal TVM Late Lancaster 50yd tests

Had a good and surprising range session today with the .40cal TVM Late Lancaster.
By the time I got it last year and was ready to put it to work, I didn't have much time to play with it...concentrated only on load development / sight adjustments to finalize it for squirrel season that was coming soon.
Zeroed at 25yds with 40grns Goex 3F, .018" P/T, .395" ball.

Today's range trip was for 50yd practice and to my surprise I was in the center of the 50yd target...will re-verify again later in the week.
Haven't chronographed this 40grn Goex 3F load but initial impression is that the 25yd zero is hot & flat enough to 50yds as is...will play some more

Great shooting. Thanks for posting this. It gives me hope for my 50 cal. Late Lancaster which is showing signs of the same level of accuracy. The poor thing is handicapped by its shooter, of course, but we're working on a cooperative venture: it stays accurate and I try to improve. :grin:

I use my .40 caliber Vincent with 40 grs. of Swiss
3F for competition from 25-100 yards and find that load is frankly all you need at those ranges.
It is FLAT,

I changed to that steel front sight because it's wider and gives me better visibility in early & late low light of the woods

Sure is great shooting. Love my .40 and it's one of stable that I got 100 yard 4" groups; the stars have to be aligned, you understand. I can't do your kind of shooting even at 25 yards. But a crummy shots are not born; they are made. :stir: :rotf:
