I've recently acquired a couple of rifles (thanks, MS), one of which is a hawken in .45 in good condition. The barrel and bore are fine, but I think I'll want something a little cooler. Like that Green Mountain drop in from TOW. It's out of stock, though.

If, for whatever reason, they never come back in stock, could I build the barrel myself? That sounds like work I'm not cut out for quite yet. Has anyone done this before/have any recommendations?

My recommendation is to send the barrel to Bobby Hoyt when the time comes to get your rebore job done.

i was only asking because your post did not specify . nor does it say if your hawken is in fact a t/c. im asking because i have an unfired green river .50 15/16 drop in barrel for a t/c hawken [ missing ramrod] i would ship to you for $290.00 if your interested

I am looking to undertake the same task. Been watching video after video trying to get my knowledge upgraded. Looking for a breechplug tool for a 15/16 TC Hawken.
