Recently purchased a .45 cal pistol at what I think was a reasonable price.
Barrel is marked "MFG For ULTRA HI by MIROKU
JAPAN 17703".I'm not concerned about value,
just a little background. Thanks in advance!

Any chance you can post a picture? I have a .58 Zouave made by Ultra-Hi. Got it the early 70s.

The guy I bought from stated it was a kit
pistol.Sorry can't photos.

Wow :haha: ,just looked on this section and was ready to type a post about my Ultra hi 45 flinter also..LOL.It was a kit my dad put together in the 70's..Remeber trying to shoot it back then with 440 ball and .010 patch but it was way to tight..Got it from him a few weeks back cleaned her up worked the trigger and sear a little to get rid of th 20 lb. something pull..Ordered a box of .433 balls,it has to be a better fit than what I have now, 15 or 18 thousandths patches should load well,,Lock even being made in Japan has a great spark with shortened english flints..When the balls come in I'll let all know how she shoots..Always wondered why it was marked a 45 instead of a 44 cal, which it probaly shoud be.Ray
