Presentation cased 45 caliber flint pistol by Clay Smith. This is gun #93, likely from the mid-1980s, prior to his time as the Gunsmith at Williamsburg but nonetheless shows his considerable talent in his early career.
Photos don't really do this gun justice. It is expertly finished with a highly figured stock, brass sideplate and engraved trigger guard, cool grotesque in the butt and pewter nosecap. The pistol has been fired but the 10" barrel shows no finish loss and there are no scratches or dings to be found in the stock. Bore has been well-maintained and this beauty is ready to shoot and display. Brass accessories have taken some patina and the felt lining has scuffed in a couple places, however the walnut case has been cared for and shows only a couple handling marks.
Offered at $2500 plus $100 shipping/insurance in the US. Please PM for questions and details.
