.50 Ball weight?

I just picked up a T/C Hawken .50 caliber percussion.
I understand it shoots a ball well, as well as the T/C Maxi-ball.
Looking at Cabela's site they list the maxiball at 370gr.
About how much does a round ball weigh?

About 177 grs. depending on the purity of the lead.

Yep, that roughly a 2:1 ratio of roundballs to maxiball...

That 2:1 ratio "with more bang for your buck" works on both ends! It is also roughly twice the recoil of a round ball and patch using the same charge.
Nothing real serious in the .50, but as we go up the scale to the .54, and .58, it starts to get very serious for some folks.
