For sale is a .54 caliber rifle I built this past hunting season. I killed a nice little buck with it soon after. You can find the thread under my name/posts.
This rifle has a 40" Gain Twist Swamped barrel by Bobby Hoyt. I don't remember exactly but it's something like 90+" twist at the breech and 43" at the muzzle. Amazingly smooth barrel interior. It loads and cleans easier than any rifle I've ever owned. Gun has a Chambers Virginia round faced lock and single trigger, trigger pull is around 3-4 pounds. Maple stock that has some curl here and there. Has what I'd called a "lightly aged finish". Iron hardware. White lightnin' liner. Gun weighs 8#s on the nose and has a 13 5/8" length of pull. Has 1/8" cast off.
Big box on this rifle. I can put a turnscrew, a couple extra flints and leathers. 5-6 balls and a couple small rolls of patching in the box. When hunting with it I would just carry a flat horn and measure in my pocket and start the ball/ cut the patch with my knife.
Price is $1700 shipped
Payment by paypal friends or postal money order.
