Hawken take a look.

Very nice amigo ... very dark too! And may I suggest a name for it?

Perhaps "Midnite Express"?

I shoot a rabbit with the rifle today and well it killed it. All I got was the two back legs. I have never seen a muzzleloader do that before?

That's a nice looking Hawken rifle there.
If yer wanting ta hunt rabbits with yer .58 Hawken ya might wanna load down some. :rotf:
When I use my .58 on rabbits I use 40 grs. a 2F Goex and a .575 ball with greased pillowtickin'.
It just pokes a hole and the rabbit falls over dead. The ball is usually still in the rabbit just under the skin on the other side. You can retreive the lead and getchya anothern'. :winking:

By the way One Eye, what are the stats on that rifle. What are the barrel measurements and LOP?
Thankee kindly,
Don

It has a 36 inch .58cal 1 1/8 across the flats barrel. With a 14 inch LOP. Walnut stock and I'm shooting a .570 round ball with 100grs. of Triple 7-yes I know it's wrong but, I can not find black.

I have no experience with 777. I just see guys mention it in there posts. I thought it was just another brand of blackpowder. Is it a modern black powder substitute?
That Hawken rifle of yours must weigh about 12 1/2 - 13 lbs. or so?
