I got a TVM tennessee pistol .62cal smoothbore last week and have ordered a .60 cal rb mold. I didn't get any load info with the pistol. My idea is 50 grains FFG max unless someone has heard from TVM on this. Does anyone out there have this pistol and what do you load in yours? This thing is a beauty.

:shocked2: Its a pistol not a rifle. I'd cut it back to 25 at the most to start with.

I have a .67 smoothbore that I use 40gr FFg and a .650 patched round ball on top of a .125 overpowder card. I've also fired 1oz loads of shot from it.

My suggestion would be to start off with 25-30 grains of powder to start with. I think you will find that the small powder charge will be more than adaquit for the pistol. I haven't seen one of Jack's pistols but I have built a couple of bistols using the barrels he sells, the loads for those ranged between what I suggested above.

I have a Jackie Brown 62cal. carolina smooth pistol and put one oz.of #6's in front of a fiber wad sitting on 25gr. 3f and have taken grouse with good success. A .600 rb wrapped in .015 patch shoots well with 35gr. of 3f.

Keep yer flint sharp :applause: Firelock
