I bought my 12 ga SxS pendersoli about 6 months ago and Ive shot everything from squirrels to rabbits to dove with it since then, and I love it and this weekend im going to try to get my first turkey with it . Ive worked up a pretty good load for my gun but I was curious If anyone has ever used shot filler/buffer mixed in to get a tighter pattern w/out a plastic shot cup. Also if anyone has any Ideas on a good turkey load feel free to share it.. And I hear 777 has alot higher velocity and pressures is 90 gr too much? Ive been shooting 90 gr on small game with no problems..maybe someone will understand all this rambling

The best turkey load I have found in my Pedersoli 10 ga SXS is 105 g of FFg, one thick combo over powder shot cushion wad basted with a little lube, powder volumn equal. of #5 shot (around 1.25 oz.) and two over shot cards. Can't answer about 777 in this gun, have always shot the traditional b/p but, you are right, the 777 is going to give you different performance. There is a post on the smoothbore board, posted back last January explaining how to make paper shot cups for your m/z shogun. I have not tried this yet, but plan on it before the season starts here. Looks like this procedure would hold the shot load together quit well. Worth looking over that post.

My Pedersoli 10 ga. turkey load is 110 grains 2f Goex, over powder card, half inch pre-lubed cushion wad, 1 1/2 oz. #5 shot, over shot card. Circle Fly components/wads work very well. Black Mag 3 also worked very well, but like T7 its hotter so 100 grains ended up patterning best. I have gone back to Goex. The barrels have fixed chokes of imp cyl and mod. Interestingly, the imp cyl barrel patterns tighter than the mod! Paper shot cups DID NOT improve patterns, they probably work best with barrels that are open (not any choke). For 12 ga. I would reduce the 10 ga. loads a bit.

Thanks for the load info I have both barrels still loaded I didnt get to shoot them at a turkey last weekend. maybe I will have better luck this weekend.
