OK I know I'm doing this backwards but...

I have an extra barrel that fits an Investarms Hawkens in .45 from GM. What or where can I find another stock, lock, etc. for it? The barrel is will fit other guns right?

Yeah I was just there. Nothing so far. Now which companies also fit the Investarms barrels? TC, Lyman, maybe?

The Cabelas rifles are made by Investarm.

Rather than spend time looking for just the stock, you can mail the barrel to me. A drop in .45 for my Investarm Hawken would be kinda neat!

That's what I thought. Then I saw my poor .54 barrel sitting there shivering in the corner wanting its body back. So that's why I posted the question.

First time I try and cut one down a tree a bunny hugger with jump out or fall out of the tree their sitting in. They'll be screaming spotted owl! Your going to kill a spotted owl!

Better I just buy one already made.

I don't know what the big deal is about the spotted owl an Indian friend of mine said they taste just like.....you quessed it.....chicken :rotf:

the investarms hawkin barrels drop into a t/c stock, but sometimes you will have to move the wedge pin forward or aft, I have doctored up a few for folks, try tow they have replasement stocks for t/c hawkins

Take your barrel and your stock for your 54 and send them both to Fred Miller. He typically has some blanks for sale. Ask him to inlet a blank for your .45 barrel, and drill the ramrod hole. Then copy the other stock minus its barrel inlet. or have him run one of his other patterns on the rest of the blank. His patterns typically run from the lock pannels to the but. The rest is left for you to so including the lock inlets. But he will fully copy any stock you send him and correct things you want corrected. Things like fully drilling the ramrod hole rather than a routed out one or not milling the eschusions (SP??). Nice guy and very timely. The best time to call is after 5pm. 570-922-1861.

Funny I've heard they taste like Seagulls. Lord only knows why those dern things are protected. Not like the world has a shortage of Seagulls.

Big bore, and 54J thanks for the reply and information. I went to bed thinking about this and sort of remembered that someone sells replacement parts for the Investarms and TC. I recall seeing some really nice stock blanks for sale. It might have been TOW or Dixie I'll have to check.

My building skills is pretty limited. My power tools are a finishing sander, circular saw, and hand drill. Heck I impressed myself when I finished my underhammer. If my plan fails I'll use your suggestions. I need to do this cheaply to keep the wife happy. Or I'll have to put her in a mink coat.

Take care and Happy New Years All! :v

Tell her you need to finish this project so you can go hunt for Beaver to maker her a custom bearver coat.

Now if she buys that you are doing better than me. :haha: :haha:
