These two dandy Kibler Colonial kits arrived safe and sound today! Both are .54 caliber and Cherry stocked. One has a sliding wood patchbox and the other will have a brass patchbox. I think I might do the wooden patchbox rifle first.
It should be a nice summer ☺

They require very little time. I assembled a SMR in 4 hours day before yesterday. The sanding and metal finishing will take about that. The finishing is however far you want to take it. A basic rifle with rubbed back cold blue and varnish could easily be done in a weekend and a 6-pack.

Still working on my .54 Colonial, they seem to be 40% easier to assemble than shown in the videos due to Jim improving his kits. (Everything threaded is drilled/tapped, tenon's are integral with the barrel, liner is installed in the barrel.) My first muzzleloader build, and already order a .45 SMR. The most time consuming part so far is fitting of the trigger guard and the entry pipe for the ramrod. With the CNC stock you don't have much extra wood to work with.
