I just got off the phone with TVM and ordered a Tennessee Rifle. 45 cal x 42 long, brass except for a iron nose piece,Siler lock, dbl set trigger, all the options except patch box, and the best Maple they have. TEN months delivery. Gives me time to visit TOW for balls and patches
and look up some loads.
They called me. I also asked that "2004" be engraved next to the makers name, they will do it.

TEN months delivery.

Ain't it awful! I'm waiting on one from a gunsmith who also runs an apple orchard. ten months is about what I'm facing (I hope!) He warned me it would be a long wait 'cause I missed the tail end of his smithing season. Good things take time. Like you say, I'm running enough ball and stockpiling powder and flints to get up a good head o'steam when she finally arrives.

Congrats on the order.

Most people thing that hardest part is deciding on what to order and who to have make it. But really it is the waiting once ordered.

TVM makes a fine gun though and I am sure it will be worth the waite.

Does it have the Large Siler lock or small Siler lock?? The .45cal is a good shooter and a solid middle performer. Very good on deer and even Squiriel. Black English flint and fffg powder.

I had my choice and went with the large, my other flinter has a large so I can limit the spare parts.
