The first weekend in October, my wife and I visited the Big Island Rendezvous in Albert Lea, MN. We had not gone to this one before (we visit, we don't actually "participate.") We really enjoyed the day! There was a lot to see, including cannon and mortar demonstrations of which our own forum member PGH "The Englishman," dressed in fine traditional Scottish attire, is part of the team . Anyone from the area would enjoy a visit to this event.

Anyway, my 10 yr old grandson was at a Boy Scout camp where they were throwing Hawks and took a shine to them. So my wife and I sorted through all the vendors "cheap" hawks and found something we could work with. I fit the head tightly to the handle, stained and finished, and added some leather and fur. My wife added a few beads which are colored to represent birthstone colors of the family. He gets it tomorrow. Hope he likes it.
