HI all,
I found this forum while researching an incomplete wilkinson percussion rifle given to me by my father, and was intrigued to see an almost identical example being discussed here.

I used to shoot competitively as a younger man, although mostly air rifle / smallbore. Now that I am of an age where grey hairs are creeping into the beard, I seem strangely drawn to this stately old victorian rifle, and have been enjoying finding out all I can about it.
Cheers, James.

A photo of your rifle will greatly help it might be a Vollunteer rifle c 1860s but a pic would be a fairy sure way to find out . I spent the winter of 63 in Oxfordshire at Combe, Long Hanborough .& Kidlington . No shortage of snow that year ! .
Welcome from NZ.

Welcome from the Sunny Sunbelt of Fla-USA
tonight is election stuff so many members who
are expert on your gun are diverted to that.
But over time you can be sure they want to see
a pic of it and discuss it. You could start a thread
on the piece and post photos. Thanks and again
welcome here.
