As the day bloomed sunny yet sharp, I had the urge to grab my flintlock and head to the woods for a short, amateur-ish trek.

I found a tick that thought it was a great day to be out and about too. Undaunted, I continued on toward solitude and recreation....

In no hurry, and, as it turned out, a bit under dressed (the sunshine was deceiving), I made a little fire and soaked up it’s warmth while resting upon a fallen tree.

Once warmed, I continued on my way.

Has anyone here played “bark the ball bag”, er, I should say “squirrel”? The small hump on a fallen log couldn’t be resisted.

No knot on any dead beech tree was entirely safe today! Several were spotted and my stalking skills put me in range of a few...They never alerted once!

Just a quick glimpse into how I managed to stay out of trouble today, while waiting on turkey season to arrive. Ahh.....turkeys!!!

You all have a great weekend and take care.

All the best, Skychief.
